Anyone care to share results publicly of the LU converter?

I have Dave's 9" 2600-2800 stall. I do not lock it at the strip and don't intend to. On a 26" MT street tire I'm trapping at 112 mph and 5500 rpm. I have cut high 1.6 60 foot times, I need to work on brakes and traction, also looking at a taller tire. I just go to test and tune frequently with a fair amount of nice weather street driving. I like the convertor. Let me know if you want any more info.

I still have yet to have the opportunity to run it at a track. I can tell you everything is still working great though. I went to a 85mm maf and a little smaller cone filter and it spools like a stock turbo with a MBC on it. I had asked Dave about locking the converter and he said it isn't needed. I probably should have wen t with a nlu but like I said before the closest track is over 1.5 hours away in banjo country.

I know ptc 9.5 works. My trans us a LU, and wanted to explore if Dave's LU will spool a TE45a, and couple at the big end. Not looking to lock at wot. I am doing this on my back, so a good lockup would be easier to change on a 99.99% street car. Thanks guys.

Why would a LU be easier to change than NLU?

Just install Daves 3021 in a new trans. Drives like a stocker, spool is very good with s te60 precision housing. Very happy and the owner will be too. Dave is great. Does what he says.

Because i will just need to slide the trans back, and replace the converter vs doing the mods, and replace converter . . . . I think. lol

Ah yes makes perfect sense. If you jack car up high enough you can slide transmission out giving you more room to work.

I will start antoher thread if needed, as this is not about my junk, but the Husek converter.

Give him a call,I know he has a client that runs the 45a with his lockup

That would be me and I can spool the 45a no problem. I had a small glitch in my build so the motor is back on the stand but from the small amount of test hits I did the combo seemed pretty good. With more tuning it would have been brutal.

Huseks LU converter is the bee's knee's. He will build you one to fit your needs.

Fair enuf. Is anyone willing to share their info on what the slip rate is with one of these convertors unlocked.

Mine couples real hard. I think Dave and I figured mine was about 6% with around 400 HP pushing on it and a 28" tire. This is with the PL calculator.

I did pick up 10 mph with the same rpm at the end of the quarter. I had a Pat's before I got Daves. Hope this helps

2 things, my prediction with the tc locked is that slip is zero. ;-) Secondly, I personally saw Barracuda pick up those 10mph with just a converter change. If I didn't already have my vig, I'd be getting one from Dave and stop bothering with locking my tc at the track. I know my vig won't couple open like Dave's tc does and Barracuda and I were making similar hp at that time. He's since left me in the dust. :-D

I won't give up my locking tc btw. I've ridden in plenty with good nl tcs and I simply don't care for it compared to a lockup. Jmho.
