I bought a house and all the heat pump condensers are missing.(foreclosure)

All the air handlers are in place and 'look' brand new. I was told they were all functioning fine beforehand.

I'm assuming these are 10 seer since they are probably 10 years old. I have a line on many new 10 seer compressors that I'd like to install to get these up and running.

Its a vacation home and I'm not worried about efficiency and don't want to install all new 13 seer Puron systems. The house originally had six 1.5 ton, one 2 ton, one 2.5 ton, one 3 ton and a 24,000 btu mini split system.

Here is a list of the serial #'s. I could only find 7. Two are hiding somewhere. Can someone tell me what seer and tonage these air handler units are?

1. TWH030B140B0
2. TWE036C140A0
3. TWH018B140A1 (3 of these)
4. TWH018B140F1
5. TWH024B140A1

I was thinking the 18's are 1.5's, 24 is a 2 ton, 30 is a 2.5 and 36 is the 3 ton?

Thanks!

must be a big house ...and you are correct on Tonage..

Can you shoot me some Foreclosures from the foreclosure capital of the world.

House is 9,000 sq ft. It is in NC.

Do you think these are 10 seer or less? If they are..any 10 seer condenser will work right?

Try www.Realtytrac.com or go to Ft Meyers on craigslist and search foreclosures.

you say all the condensors are missing,or are all the compressors missing...just asking since you say you have a line on 10 seer compressors..

isnt Reatlytrac the number one in the world that wants $$$ to see listing ,unless you are a realtor

Sorry. I've always called the outside unit compressors, but have heard others call them condensers.

I found a bunch of 10 seer 'outside units' brand new in the box.

Realtytrac will email you new foreclosures in the zip code you request, but gotta pay to see.

I am an A/C contractor and you better do this before April 09 because after that you have to buy matched units inside and out. You will no longer be able to buy just the condenser if it is stolen. And after December of this year you will no longer be able to buy R22 units only 410A.

These are model numbers. I need the serial numbers off the "evaporators" to give you the date of manufacture and the seer.
1. TWH030B140B0=2.5 ton
2. TWE036C140A0=3 ton
3. TWH018B140A1 (3 of these)=1.5 ton
4. TWH018B140F1=1.5 ton
5. TWH024B140A1=1.5 ton

You can get away with putting a 13 seer condenser on a 10 seer evaporator you will just loose a little capacity. Where are you getting 10 seer condensers these days? You cannot mix freons though. Puron is just R410A and you can't put a R410A condenser on a R22 evaporator with out changing the orfice or expansion valve. The problem is the R22 evap will a smaller fin area than a R410A unit of the same capacity.

So if your condenser was stolen, you have to have to change the blower unit also?

Hi Mikey, Thanks for the info. I have a friend that owns his own AC company and will sell me all the equipment for around cost. Six 1.5 ton, One 2 ton, One 2.5 ton, One 3 ton and 9 honeywell digital therms. Base model comfort zone Carrier handlers and condensers. 13 seer and Puron for $10,700.

I think I'll go that route. That way I'm current. He told me the Carriers are better with the Puron. The have 19 patents designing units for the Puron.

The 10 seers I found turned out to be 3 phase. I'll give you their name if your interested.

After April 30, 2009 you will no longer be able to buy one piece. You will have to buy a matched set.
Thank your fed's for that. Got to save the enviroment boys, you know that.
I just don't understand how that does it.

Glad you got it worked out.
Again, if the existing evaporators were R-22 you will have to change the orfice or expansion valve to make them work properly with the R-410A but you will still loose some capacity.
