GN wiring
Here is a diagram of the basic wires that need to be hooked up. notice that the service engine soon light needs to be installed at the point pictured. If you don't hook up, the alternator won't charge. At least that was my experience. As far as the car side, that should be pretty simple. if you look at the wires on your steering column, you should be able to check with a meter what wires are what (accessory position, hot while cranking, hot all the time, etc.) Also some wires will be found at the fuse box. What year 'stang? I might have the wiring from one of my old car stereo installaition manuals. Good luck.
