Has anybody tried lifter preloads of less than .030" with their hydraulic roller cam? If so, was any power gained? I have ajustable rocker arms and was wondering what affect it would have to loosen the preload alittle? Will it just make more noise? I couldnt find much info in a search of the archives.

theorectically you want more then 030 for more power.....more preload is less oil in the lifter, and less weight.......but if it goes to 0 then you hang the valve and bend stuff and break the lifter...in extreme cases......

less.......probably just more noise, but I ve found .10 in et with just playing with valve lash.........depends on what "it" likes....

Depends on what lifter you have. The silver ones are 2-4 thou the black ones are a 0 preload.
