So after 3 years of never actually owning a turbo buick, only being a hybrider and a carb turbo guy at that - I finally getting a real turbo buick.

An 85 T-Type Riv.
Its kinda rough, but in amazing shape at the same time. I just need to spend some time under the hood re-assembling what the previous owner took apart.
The body is cherry, and the interior is very clean.

from what I can tell, I need a radiator and a set of the rear bumper corners.

So where is a good information site on the turbo rivs?

Thanks!

We've lost you forever now.:frown: I can just seeing you make this an IC car. You need to talk to Eric (Turbofish38) to see what you have to do. If it's got the 4 speed transaxle internally it's about the same as the 2004r but there are some differences. If you need a spare intake I've got 3 right now because of default. If you want the FWD intake to do some mods on I've got 1 of them as well. Much straighter shot to the runners so it should flow better.
Just don't ghetto it out please.:D
Add a pic of the passenger side of the engine to Aj.

I don't think 24's will fit on it Aj. And if you go to a smaller tire you'll have other problems as well.

If you do anything like this to it I'll dis-own you for sure.

LMAO! no not that bad..... lol but I was thinking of cragar 19's and a 2 - 3 inch drop all around.

windows are already limo black, and the interior is ghetto enough from the factory.

the only real exception is i want to fully deck the inside out! honking stereo, LCD monitors, Diamond in the back, sunroof top, Diggin' the scene With a gangsta lean........Gangsta whitewalls.......TV antennas in the back

LOL I had a moment.

A.j.

LOL I had to make sure Aj. Did you look at that thing real close? It's a T Type. Scary huh.

Welcome to the club. These are kind of fun to play around with. They are FWD so you get to beat up on the Ricers. They are boats so you get to beat up on the LT1 Impala guys. They are sleepers so you get to beat up on the Mustangs.

You can squeeze some 22"s on it. There is some 'playa' in Orlando cruising around in a white 83 convertible with 20" wheels. I don't have a clue how he got that much rise out of the stock torsion bars. But of course we'd have to call you "pimp" since you have some extra 'ho power under the hood.:p

I did manage to get my "lite" weight 84 into the high 13's. If you call 3800 pounds light. And this was the cheap recipe. XP Pump, chip, gutted cat and a K&N. I shake my head when people can't even get the lighter Regals to go that fast.

Oh and you can use a radiator from any V-8 G-Body(think F-Body swap),B,C,D-Body(RWD) and of course E/K Body. The rear bumper is Riviera and Toronado.

OH NO!!! Eric, dont encourage him! He has an imagination like no one else.  lol Since the HA cars like the 204/214 cam you should also try one of them as well Aj. Between some mods to the engine and a little tweeking you should be able to make it a nice ride.

nope I dont want to touch a thing other than keep it running well. just a little lower and some better wheels.

I cant mess-around with everything I drive anymore.... something has to be resonable! well..... ok, maybe not......

 A.j.

I know you better than that Aj. First you're going to put a timing chain on it and then since you're in there, take the intake off and do a cam. Then, what the heck, port the heads because I'm sure they need a valve job after all this time. You know I'm right so just say it.

I'd still like to see a pic of the passenger side of the engine though.:frown:

Nooooo ....... stock! or im going to try and keep it stock, there isnt a car ive owned that i havent thrown a bazillion dollars into to still have a pile of ass. might as well keep this one nice and good running.

I'll leave all my thinking time to the 8 other cars im working on.

I will see if I can get out to Generics (Eric) house and take the pic of the pass side for ya.

:) A.j.

We'll see. I want to see the pass side to get a better idea of something. You know what I'm up to so you may just like the idea.
I've got an email I need to send you from the other "consoltant" I'm using on the idea. Made some very good points and he may have just solved the issue we were talking about. Between the three of us this just might be the ticket to kick the IC guys in the butt.

You're part of it now Jerryl. That's what the emails are about. Thanks for your input btw. Very appreciated.:)

You both have mail so go take a look and send me what you think.

HHHMMMM! That looks awefully familiar... Side of garage, weeds and all. Especially the dirt... that looks like my dirt. ;)

You're going to ruin him Eric. Just about to get him broken in on the carb/turbo stuff too. lol

I am glad I know him. I was going to part the car out. Then I actually got to see the car up close and personal when FuzzyGN and I picked it up. Then I changed my mind. Just don't have time to get it put together and running again with my Vega/GN project so I put it up for sale. I knew A.J. always wanted an actual TB so I gave him first dibs and a good price. It has a rebuilt 325-4L with very few miles since overhaul. Someone stole the radiator and A.J. can rebuild the turbo. I was told it smokes at idle and they started taking it apart before a friend told them it may not need all the work they thought.
