After seeing a Geo storm run 10.9@140 (with a GEO motor)I believe ANY car can be made fast... The Barettas werent slow to begin with. Give me a GTZ and a 100 shot, And I'll work a mostly stock GN.... I did w/ a stock jetta w/ boost set @23psi.... at the track.
First of all there is no such car company as GEO. Its another car line rebadged. Suzuki, Toyota have been them in the past.. The Storm was made by Isuzu.
A GTZ is a regular beretta with big wheels. same motor.
From what I have seen and from the way I used to think.
Most guys I come across are into one type of car or just follow one or two types of cars.
Example
I was into Toyotas and Mazdas
I thought they were the fastest and best things on the planet
Until the Mustangs and GN’s start it walking me down.
Until some of these guys start racing against what ever lines up next to them, they won’t accept that there are other types of fast cars out there.
Also what I see in street racing from some “racers with fast cars” is
1-Extream Selective racing - only race if they think they will win
2-lots of excuses on why they lost - tires, boost, tune what ever.
I did a good amount of racing and I raced anything and everything that lined up next to me. Because of that I lost lots of races.
Not like some guys out there.
Any way good luck on the next one.
Couldnt have said it better myself. Racing is racing. If you chase you race which means if you went for it then you are racing and if you lost, then you lost. Last time I checked, the first person who gets to whatever the designated finish line is the winner.
I recently saw a turbo awd Mitsu Eclipse take out a very fast Mustang out at a local race. Funny thing was there were no Buicks willing to take the challenge. Rumor had it that the Eclipse had run 9.20's-9.30's. Definitely was a neat thing to watch.
Beat a Mustang.. ... we have a 85 coupe with a tiny 302 that would take some of that!![]()
