I have owned this GN since 97 and I have learned more in one week than in 12 years.
1. I had less than superior guages in it and recently switched to my VDO guages only to learn that my fuel pressure was @ 47psi with vacuum on. I have always had slow spool up and the dreaded off idle stumble when I took off , but now its around town driving is very "predictable" and spool up is near instant.
2. I actually had to replace my alt because the output was 10.38 volt. Thanks to twin Optima batteries that didn't drain easily. It was just enough to run the car but the car would detonate under boost. I thought that I had octane problems. It was a combo of not being able to see my fuel press. guage drop due to low battery voltage.
3. I had to change my belt tensioner (thanks Nos4gn), at high rpm's my belt came off twice.
4. I went through 3 coil packs and 2 ignition modules before buying a new combo (thanks again Nos4gn). No more chugging and sounding like a miss fire.
5. I have replaced my 200r4 (about 5 years ago) with a turbo 350 and it has an adjustable modulator. The car was shifting at about 4000 rpm at WOT. After a little dialing it shifts at about 5300 and the car has taken on a new personality. I will keep playing with this, I should have about 500 more rpm per cam specs.
I think that I have finally made peace with this car ( knock on wood) it has really been a love/ hate relationship this week.
Lesson learned, I need sleep, lots of it.

Your #1 sounds like my dads car..it's sloowww to spool up. Could you explain to me the fuel pressure in regards to turbo spool up relationship? I understand f.p should go up 1:1 with boost.

I've had an interesting few weeks with mine also.

1. Fuel pump relay failed when taking car out of storage. Changed.
2. Oil leak. Had to change valve cover gaskets
3. Wastegate actuator pulled away from turbo. Had to helicoil and repair.
4. Cheap fuel pump relay failed when leaving for car show. Had to replace with a Bosch and it has been fine since.
5. Blew IC hose off up-pipe while cruising. Scared me at first, but then I knew that sound.

These things are definitly a love/hate relationship. You love them when they are running right. All other performance car owners hate them when they are running right.

Glad you are getting it straightened out.
