as far as are there any other turbo's larger than a ta-49 i can bolt up?

i hope i was clear with that, i just woke up and haven't eaten breakfast yet ;)

A THDP will bolt on to any Buick housing turbo which is all the way up to a 76 if you are so inclined...it's not really a matter of size turbo, the bolt pattern is what makes it fit

What about the stock wastegate. will any problems be encountered upgrading past a certain point? and what would need to be done to remedy it?

What's the combo.?

I run a 70 with a stock wastegate system.

No issues at all.

haven't really come up with a combo yet :D, i know i'm going to put 50lbers in it, i have the walbor 340 and hot wire waiting to go in, thdp 3", race bypass, atr 2.5" catback, adj fpr, big mouth cai, 3" maf and 3" up pipe.

i'm trying to figure out if i should go with the thunderfab or the pte stock mount i/c now and what turbo i should go with if i keep the tranny stock.

If you won't be pulling the tranny for a rebuild or to install a converter than you are limited to the 44 or 49 turbo or the new 32 something or another.

Perhaps a 60 or 51 also, but quick spool tricks in the chip and wastegate system code or actuation will be needed to spool them well for street use.

No reason to even consider external wastegate control just yet.

Spend the extra money saved on a good street strip tranny rebuild and higher stall converter.

Then you will be ready for a larger turbo, oh and more $$$. :p

Put the stuff you have on the car and drive it too. :)
