My first car was an 86 Buick Regal Limited. Though slow, I liked the styling and comfort of that car. My main hobby has been vintage Mustangs, but I'd like to buy a GN as a daily driver. My budget would be about 12K. Could you tell me what I should expect for this price and some of the common problems associated with GNs? I live in Pensacola, Florida so if anyone would be willing to offer some suggestions or help in my car search in this area I would appreciate it very much. I'm sure this is probably a common question and I apologize for not searching, but I'm not familiar with the operation of this board yet. Thank you in advance for any advice.

Check out this link:

The Turbo Regal Buyers Guide

Our friends at GN/T-Type have put together just what you are looking for.

Also, you might contact Dennis Kirban at:

Kirbans Performance

He usually has an inventory of Turbo Buicks on hand. He is quite knowlegable about these cars and goes through them fixing most of the common problems. He is located in Pennsylvania so he isn't real close but he is a good bet for buying a TR sight unseen. I would be inclined to contact Dennis if I wanted another one.

Good Luck, :)

James,

There is a GSCA Chapter pretty local to you called Deep South.... maybe some of the guys will give you contact info. Great, friendly bunch of guys too! Through them, you may find some really nice local to you leads on TRs. Your budget should net you a really nice TR and still allow $$ for some tasty mods. Another resource is the Auto Trader online and you can search within set distances desired. And.... you may want to contact SE Turbo in Atlanta as they have cars for sale occassionally. They have a banner on this site as a vendor. Bottom line is that you'll have to beat the bushes and do your homework to find the right car for you. Hook up with someone locally who can show you the ropes. And, lastly..... peruse GNTTYPE.org for all the knowledge you'll need as well as the car buyers guide. Test will be later. Good luck!
