(since Buick is the Leading American car import).

I often wonder if the citizens of China are going thru what this country went through in the 1950's & 60's with the love affair with the automobile?

Maybe some of you older members remember when everyone in your hood would checkout what new car your dad brought home from the dealership.

I remember it was a ritual for everyone to checkout the new wheels.

I'm old enough to remember those days! It was cool, and a bit funny.

Back when neighbors actually spoke to each other?

I was just in China last month and yes they have a lot of Buicks but most of them are made specifically for that market. They have Buick minivans, Buick micro cars that look like "mini's" and various other far out models not available in the US. Although they really like Buicks it seems their real obsession is with German cars. The premier luxury vehicle is the Audi and they love Volkswagens as well

YUP it did happen.

In the 60's all the dads would come home from work in summertime & get a Black label or Schlitz beer, and play stick half ball where I grew up. All the families were HUGE brady bunch style with LOTS of kids. We would Cheer our Dad's on as they played after supper.

The Best was one neighbor owned a Rambler dealership.. OH boy when that JAVLIN SST, AMX & Rebel Machine came home it was GRRRREAT!
