Ok I had a local transmission shop install my bushings for me since I dont have the tools to do so.

I showed the guy the ck book and the new drum and told him the the bushing had to be installed to the bottem of its bore. I even left the billet drum there with him so he could make sure that it ended up right.

Now that I look closely and read that paragraph again - I think he may have done it backwards. The book says something about not covering up a hole and one should be .930" down, other ofcourse to the bottom of its bore.

Which bushing should be .930" down and which bushing should be bottom of its bore?

The bushing where you install on the rubber seal side is installed as far down as it ill go. And the other bushing closest to the sealing rings is installed in stock position.

When I put the forward and direct drum on it it spins freely and smoothly

Well I just looked at the forward drum position in the support real close. Its got to be right. The bottom surface in the billet drum is in the stock position, while the surface closest to the splines is the one that is changed - which corresponds to the bushing in the bottom of the suppotr (closest to the rubber seal/snap ring side.

But which lube hole is ck book talking about not to cover up?
