My IAC is probably shot to sh*t right now. typical surging revs dying out at a stop light. And maybe my EGR Diaphragm too. I pushed up on the diaphragm and it didnt die out, indicating a leak. I cleaned out the IAC housing and IAC tip with MOC brand carb cleaner. and reset the IAC and TPS. still surging, no CEL, no codes. Checked for vac leak, none what so ever. I noticed on John Spinas site that the IAC he has in stock is an 84-87 Item. can 84/5 use an IAC for 86/7 TRs? John Pearcy has year specific, though the 84/85 is much more. Also, what vendor sells the 84/5 EGR Valve? John P has the 86/7 EGR Valve in stock. can 84/5 use the 86/7 EGR valve? they look kind of the same. HELP!

I got an 84/85 EGR valve from GM. Dont remember the part# or price but they still have them.

I am using an 86'-87' IAC on my car. (thanxs red) It will work. with the 84'-85' ECM the idle was a little sketchy, but since the 86'-87' ECM upgrade it has purrrrrrrrrrrrred!

I just bought a Borg Warner EGR valve recently for my 85 and it works fine part #917A . Cost $36.99:)

The EGR valve GM has listed for the 85 is discontinued but #17110464 for the 84 is still available. 84-85 IACs are different than the 86-87. Part number 17079599 is for 84-85 and 25527077 for 86-87. Eric Fisher
