When i put my new JC chip in i notice that it revs really high when I start it in the morning. It does that for 5 seconds before going back to normal idle. Is that in the chip or can I lower the IAC counts with the screw?

iac's fully warm(after driving the car from work) at idle were in the high 40's and that was in park. When in Drive, it went to the 60's.

I was wondering if lowering iac counts will help eliminate that unusually high rpm rise on a morning startup.

It might, 40 is a little high for me. Although I dont think the iac even kicks in until it warms up a bit? I would try to get it down at least below 30. Be sure to keep your eye on the tps as you bring the iac down tps will rise, you will probably need to re-adjust that too. If you set the tps to like .32 first you'll probably wind up ok, but just be aware of it. Try that and see what happens, I dont think it could hurt anyway you look at it.

Try mid 20's hot in park, mid 40's in drive see how that works. Thats how my car likes it!

That "idle up" is normal...all of the after market chips I have idle up and then drop down to the normal idle...I guess chip makers put it in there to get the oil pressure up upon start up?

Who knows....as long as it goes back down to normal I wouldn't worry about it!

At start up my car usualy goes up to about 1700 RPM.
