IAT readings stuck

My IAT sensor's readings are stuck on 77 and 78. But no trouble codes though. Is that possible? Does my translator mess with that sensor at all? And if I remember correctly, the IAT sensor isn't part of our fueling strategy with aftermarket chips anymore, right?
 
The Gen 2 uses the iac circuit for other function. I want to say spark timing.

Since it's using it, does it lock it within a certain range for that reason? Or does it prefer real time air temps?
 
I don't think it uses the intake air temp. The number on the scanmaster means nothing.
