Could you identify this mystery vacuum line? It runs along the channel above the A/C, and was on the drivers side valve cover area, possibly attached to EGR. I took the EGR valve/switch off and blocked off the plate.

vacuum

Has an end connection like the vacuum line that goes to the heater valve on other side of coil pack. Look at your heater hoses one has a valve on it that is controled by vac. It should be in the area next heater hose shown and trans dipstick..

The one connected to the heater hose is in place and connected. This is the other line that runs up on top of the A/C, and has the same L shaped end on it. Not sure where it went? EGR switch on drivers side??

looks to me to be the vac line for the heater assem. does you heater switch from vent-defrost ect??? if not thats the vac suply of the heater

there is a triple connection for 3 vacuum lines just on the driver side of the coil pack & module. Should be 2 other lines already there.
The valve is black & cylentrical shaped.

Bweavy is correct it is a cylindrical looking triple connecter mine hooks on top.

Guys, I could sure use a picture of this cylindrical block, because I have nothing like that on the drivers side. The only two things I removed are the EGR valve, which bolts directly to the intake manifold (on the drivers side), and the EGR switch, that black ugly square thing. All help is GREATLY appreciated, as I don't have any turbo buicks around here to look at for reference. I'm making this stuff up as I go along in this podunk little town. Thanks again!

Ugly black box

One of the vacuum hoses from that triple goes to back side of that ugly black square thing . Find the hose coming off the back and see what it runs up into, man you're close.

This pic is from the net, so not a Buick picture.....(and not a very good pic)

To follow the flow: from the vac block on top of the throttle body, 2 vac lines loop under the throttle body - one for FPR, other for EGR/HVAC/Cruise. There is (was) one check valve before the EGR, then one vac line passed by the EGR to the valve in this picture (the one you should connect to). One of the 2 top connectors on this check valve is used for HVAC(your loose line), the other for cruise.
