I haven't driven my car in almost 2 years cause of trans. I finally mortgaged my wife and kids to get a PTS Killer Street and 9X11 conv, cranked car and drove all of 50' and it died! Is the Wells module any good? Lifetime warranty @ Autozone for $100. My factory one had blisters on it from heat I guess and the epoxy under the coil pack was very soft and sticky.
Just wondering if it was as good as the stocker performance wise,
would I be better off getting a used stk and keeping this one for a spare?

My lone experience with the Wells ignition module was very bad. Nothing but GM or AC-Delco electronics for me.

I went with the type II from the wrecking yard off a fwd Regal - cheap.

Yes i ve had one just die for no reason and leave me stranded. I changed everything but the module cause it was "new" That POS. I then got a replacement and never did put it on the car. It sat boxed in my tool box for about 2 yrs.Well i let a big racer borrow it at Bristol so that he could trouble shoot his car. The new module wouldnt even start the car !

Ive had better luck with the Standard brand ones but ive seen folks loose the RPM signal to their GNX dashes for some reason with that module. On this part GM is the only way to go.

.

I thought as much. Had to get it anyhow. No choice at the moment. It cranked! I think I'll buy a used GM and keep this one for a spare.

So far I'm having better luck with my wells than the stocker but I'm the exception to the rule. I think I'm going to dissect a wells someday and compare it to the dissected stocker that tbs.com has a diagram of-see if there's anything behind this whole debate.

coil pack

Had to put my original coil pack back on too! Was not firing on #5 and sometimes firing on #3.

$79 combo from Red Regal T. I bought one. It works. I even had it checked at AutoZone and it read good. Best way to go.

yes

I have been thinking serious about that but Santa is a rapist and the ole wallet is his victim!
