I used to work in tech support for a software company and the first time someone put TIA in their email I though it was a girl named Tia. I kept writing things like "Tia, I can walk you through this but I will need a reference image and a good description of what you would like to see when its finished".

The guy just responded with "My name is Eric" and I never heard from him again.

That was my newb to the web introduction of abbreviations.

TIA = Thanks In Advance
