The Hot Air configuration is low timing. Even with a intercooler and the turbo, low timing is low timing. But the BENEFITS that come from just changing the intake are worth it. You also can benefit from the 86-87 turbos also. If you can tune a HOT AIR, you can tune anything.... Hot Airs run on the edge... By adding a intercooler does not FIX any problems... Let me state this again, intercooling WILL NOT FIX problems. Intercooling will help the car run FASTER if there are NO PROBLEMS
... If you have intercooler on a 84-85, you STILL don't have a 86-87. Most folks are confused. GM intercooled the car and changed the configuration which CAUSED a SHIT STORM. By intercooling the V6, Buick became a ICON over night. In 1985, Ken Duttweiler took a stock GN and ran K/Stock at 12.74 @104. In 1985, this was a GAME CHANGER. He fabbed headers and spected a cam shaft and other than that he had a Fast Car. Buick took notice and changed the configuration to intercooler and that started the REVOLUTION.... 1986-87, the GN/T Type ruled the streets. Corvette took a BACK SEAT.... Chevy Brass were SO MAD, if you notice, they did not even have a 1988 model? Pontiac took the GN motor and created a Turbo Trans Am. The GN was legendary.....
