. I was a band geek myself. I played trumpet. What I never understand though is how being a football player is so lauded by everyone and I just didn't buy the hype. You see, after the away games, the football players were riding back to the school in the dark, on a bus full of other sweaty football players while I was riding back in a bus full of flag girls, majorettes, and real flute players and we all were having fun while we cracked the seal on a bottle of JD somebody hid in their trumpet case.
