Hi everyone,
My name is Ryan and I am new to turbo Buicks. I don't currently have one, but I am in the process of researching the idea and potentially trading my prized 62 Nova street/striip car for a nice example. I live in Southern California and really enjoy the racing scene. I've been mixed up with cars for as long as I can remember, and have been fortunate enough to own quite a few nice vehicles which gave me some experience dealing with forced induction and nitrous applications.

I appreciate how helpful everyone has been so far on this site and I look forward to joining your community with a GN or T-Type of my own shortly.

Thank You,
Ryan

OH! here's my Nova

Welcome!! Where in Southern Kalifornia?? I lived in San Diego for 12 years.
Tell us more abouit your Nova!!!! More pix!!!!

I'm about 45 minutes north of L.A. in Ventura County. I love it here.

The nova is a pump gas small block street car. I built it to cruise around with my friends so it has 4 wheel disc brakes, rack and pinion steering, bench seats, and can still do some damage at the track. It has a 406ci motor with all forged internals and a single stage of nitrous via a fogger from Induction Solutions. The tranny is a TH350 and the rear end is a slightly narrowed Ford 9". It uses a Snow Performance water/meth kit to keep detonation at bay since the motor does run 11.6:1 compression. I've gone through this car multiple times to ensure everything on it is top of the line high end stuff, and it has paid off!

People look at it and expect it to be decently quick, but nobody expected mid 9's :)

Here's some more pics for you guys!

and one more for the blower fans. This was my last motor. I hit the ceiling on it and had to move away from using the blower (still got it though ;))

Okay, I'm excited to announce that I think I may have found the GN for me, and it would be coming from a member on this site!

Well!
Did you get it?

Oh yea! Welcome to the site.:)

The Bates show isn't really a "show". It's more of a relaxed time, hanging out, swapping knowledge and ideas. We're glad to see everything from trailer queens to the Turbo Buick Beverly Hillbillys. :D I think that last year we had 52 Turbo Buicks and about three times that many people.

Good times...

I got the car, and it needs work. I probably won't be making it out to any shows or meets in the next couple months.

Hey everyone. I apologize for abandoning the thread. The car overwhelmed me for a bit and I just had to take it in.
I have an entire interior for the car to replace the worn out 29 year old interior it currently has. The car is also going to need a rear bumper filler in the future, but it's not a top priority at the moment. The big thing was the tranny was completely shot, so I purchased an Extreme Automatics Stage 3 transmission from a "reputable" member of this board that ended up getting mad at me about the shipping costs and admitting that he ripped me off for $2300 and that he beat the hell out of this one before putting it on a pallet and sending it my way ???? So, right now I'm in the process of taking this transmission down and having it gone through top to bottom before putting in a new converter.

Other than that, I've got a bunch of rear suspension pieces from UMI and a new 67mm turbo from Garrett. It's not a quick process, but i'm really hoping to have a nice drivable car in the next few months. Once these mechanical installations are done, I'll be working on the wiring (a really nice guy on this board named Rodney has offered his services at a fair price) and then doing the interior. I'll keep you posted.
