Glad to have you in the class

Hey Bandit Thank you for joining us in TSM glad to hear you had such a good time.. It was nice talking to you and your wife. Let me know if I can help sorting out the car.

Turbo Guys - This was a great event. Safe, Fun, well run, and done with best intention of the participants in mind. We will be back next year with our little road show (and if things go the right way a new race car). This is a must attend event for Buick people. See ya there!

Dates for next year....

They were announced today - August 11-14, 2005. Same place, same host hotel it looks like.

Even if it is an imperfect track, it was plenty large and the proximity of hotels to one another is very nice for evening activities.

I would think if the Microtel could get a handle on how-to gaurantee rooms, and the guest could live without the use of the hotel telephone, I thought it was a good deal for the discount price they offered.

If you don't mind me asking... where did you get this information?? I didn't see anything on the bpgforum website or the BPG website.

Chris if you want BPG information, you (for whatever reason) are better off reading the www.buickv8.com bulletin board.

Bob folded over the fins in his converter a week or so before Salem. He had the converter repaired at a local shop but they didn't have the correct stator in stock so they used one that they thought was close - it wasn't. He was getting about 2000 rpm and 1? psi boost on the trans brake, behind a 270+ cu. in. stage II :-). Needless to say, his 60's were, um, bad :-). I saw him go low 10's at 150 mph and the boost clearly wasn't up until about the 1-2 shift or maybe even later. I'm sure it will all be fixed before Englishtown and Cecil.

Scott, reason I heard for the uphill track was when they were building it 60 years ago, they hit massive rock and couldn't afford to blast, so they ended up with the upswing at the end. It's kind of wierd to be in the shut down area and not be able to see the end of it until you are nearly there. They should put up some poles on the sides at the end so you know it's coming. A little disconcerting for first time racers.

Could have not been said better. Even though the track had it's issues, it was a even playing field for all. I did like the organization.

What Scott Said....

The dates for next year are on the V-8 board.

I think where Cole Smith asks if we want to do it again next year.

Actually the track is level for the first 1000 feet.....and then goes up because the track was built on a landfill in the 60's. At least that's one of the versions I've heard locally.

Well I just got back from my road trip. First I have to thank John, Jim, Rich and a host of others for taking on the task of the event.

GOOD JOB and a CLASS ACT!!!

For a first year I think it went GREAT!! Yes there is some tweaking to do but as with any large event put on the first time there are bugs and I'm sure they will work them out.

It was good to see old friends and meet new ones. I'm sure in time things can only get better. My hat is off to all the people who's hard work made the event possible.

Thanks
