and I was at the point where you "get to" allign the pushrod from the back of the master cylinder to the pin on the brake petal. However, while doing so the push rod from the MC came out. I read somewhere that it could be done that way as an easier alternative, but when I put the pushrod back in, I didn't have to use much strenght at all to pull it out. I tried pulling the stock PR out of the old MC and it won't budge. Is the new PM ok?

There was a post on here about that not too long ago where someone was able to slide the rod on the pedal then reattach it to the PM unit. Search for it...

It sounds like it would work in theory. Make sure you pushed the rod in all the way into the master cylinder. You may have to rotate to get it to lock in???

pm install

I have done it both ways. Trust me have the rod out then install the unit = much eaiser. Hook the rod to the pedal then mount the power master unit. An assistant is needed. No need to rotate the rod. Just shove it in. Yep that old one has been in there a long time and likes it there. Do not be afraid to do this job. The second one I did in less than 45 minutes. Check the Turbo Regal Web site www.gnttype.org. The tech article on power master rebuild goes through removal and install, just skip over the rebuild part. I pluged the lines at the power master with caps and did not have to bleed when done. Oh yeah, when I was done everything stopped as planned.;)
