I used this on the gaskets for my plenum and TB and I also have alky injection. Does anyone know if methanol or denatured alky will act as a solvent on this type of gasket sealant?

Thanks,
Charles

I have used it for years. Not much affects it (even a gasket scraper) I have used it for years with a lot of success for pans, water pumps, and covers. I have not used it where it is exposed to gas or alky though. Stick a couple pcs of gasket material together and submerge it see how it holds up.

That's what I was thinking. You have both products in your garage. Put them together and see what happens.

If more people used Indian head / permatex there would be a lot less carnage.
People ought to have to have a license to get silicone

Thanks all. I really thought that I had screwed up. The main reason I used it is because a year or two ago the plenum gasket blew under max boost. I figured a little gasket sealer wouldn't be a bad idea.

Razor, I think I send an email to you asking about an overflow bottle. I wanted to know if you sold them separately from the kit? I didn't have mine secured it fell while the car was running on my newly ceramic coated headers and it melted almost instantly. Hopefully I you do.

Use gasket eliminator 518. It will seal any flat machined surfaces without worry and it is anaerobic.

Next time the plenum is off, you should flat sand it or have it milled flat again. The bolt tabs will warp after they've been on/off a few times, and you'll struggle with gasket issues there under boost.

Been there done that.
