Mobil 1 has an "Extended Performance" oil now ,already at Wally-Mart . It's loaded with more anti-wear additives in it like Shell's Rotella T synthetic oil and AMSOIL. Means it has more Zinc and Phosphorus which is good for engines under severe stress ;) , which our turbo's never see :p ....
It has the API SL rating, but not the ILSAC rating , which took away the good stuff in oil for EPA reasons....Here's more info...

:)

From what I recall of the MSDS sheet for GM's "EOS" (Engine Oil Supplement), the EOS contains high levels of anti-scuff/ anti-wear additives like Zinc & Phos.

For those who prefer to use conventional (non-synthetic) motor oil, adding a 1/2 bottle of EOS to the crankcase may also be a good, cost effective means to achieve reduced engine wear.

Any downside to useing it?

Anyone seen a price per quart yet? I can get regular Mobil 1 for 3.99 a quart so I hope this isn't tooooo much more.

Yes, it's required to include the main materials and chemicals used, along with the range of composition.

For example, the primary materials in good 'ol Permatex #2 sealant are :

KAOLIN (a type of clay) 50-60%
VEGETABLE OIL 15-25%
ROSIN 10-20%

more extreme pressure rating sweeeeeet!!!!:D

that is exactly what we are looking for

I saw the new Mobil 1 at Wally-Mart, didn't look at the price though, I was looking for 2 kids that wondered off  . AutoZone didn't have any , so I'll look for the price when at Wally Mart ....maybe this week...

:)

I wonder how the Mobile 1 Extended Performance compares to Mobile 1 Racing 0-30? Has anyone used the Racing oil and where can you get it? I clicked on Moboil 1 racing from the Mobile 1 web site. It describes the Racing oil and it sounds a lot like the Extended Performance and vice versa. Which one would be best for our cars?

My GN hasnt had synthetic oil in it ever I dont think. I would like to start using it, any issues with just going to synthetic oil from convetional oil? I should also point out, my main seal leaks a little, will synthetic oil make it worse?

Forgive me if these are stupid questions.

Went to Wally-Mart this morning and saw the Mobil 1 Extended oil mixed with the regular Mobil 1 oil which showed $4.77 ......Didn't look right since it was in the same shelf spot showing $4.77, so I went and had it scanned......it's , ".59" more , $5.36 . :)
