I ordered the federal mogul 3755apa rod bearings. Parts guy calls and tells me he got Clevite cb1443p bearings instead. He says they're the same thing.....wider than stock. I thought I'd give him the benefit of the doubt before I tell him to forget it and get my 3755s and check if they are the "same". I checked Summit and they didn't list the 1443 number. Can anyone give me any information?

I'm sorry, man. I ordered the damn parts and people just can't do what they're asked. Thanks for the help. I'll check it out and decide if they're the "same" thing as the federal moguls. ;)

I hope the guy on the other end of the parts counter can just get you what you want. You don't have to apoligize to me, I'm just messing with you. Personnaly, I don't thing that is the correct number. You can even check the number Russ provided for you at that website. But I'm sure he's accurate. It is in Adobe though and is 55 pages long.

And it looks like the number Russ provided matches what you need.

Turns out my parts guy was right. The cb1433p clevite bearings are the same as the fm3755apa. The federal mogul # is even listed on the Clevite77 box. I always preferred clevite bearings over other brands so I guess I'll use the cb1433p bearings. Any opinions?

If you gave your parts guy a bad time and don't feel bad, then no harm no foul:D . Sorry to all the counterpersons out there, I just couldn't resist. Hopefully, you have a used set of bearings to compare against your new set. I still wonder about the 1398H set of bearings.

John,
I just checked my blueprint notes and here is what I found. Clevite 77 rod bearings (10 under) : CB1228-P10 (10 standing for 0.010 under) and Clevite 77 main bearings (also 10 under) : MS960-P10 (10 standing for 0.010 under). This was on a engine that was built in May 2001 and those were the part numbers I took off the box.

The bearings you used were the correct stock Clevite bearings for the 3.8. I just purchased the same main bearing set and for the rod bearings I got the wide ones.......CB1433P. Thanks for your help! ;)

Out of curiosity, I am wondering why you would want to use a wider rod bearing? Would the width of the bearing make it more likely to catch an edge and spin the bearing?
