Im building a 4l60E for a friends LSI Camaro. The original input drum is cracked, would it be possible to press out the LSI input shaft and reinstall it in a drum from a earlier 4l60E? Has anyone tried this? If so, any problems or anything to look out for? Thanks.

They make a replacement drum with a steel ring that is pressed in around where they crack,call CK Performance,he has them.

Yes, you can press out the the shaft and install it into another housing. There is a master spline which must be lined up correctly. Be sure to support the inside of the housing when pressing the shaft into it or you will break the center out of the housing.
