I'm just curious, I've sold probably 100 PT61 turbos to people out there and I'm not really sure how fast you guys are going with them...It doesn't matter if the motor is stock or not, just wanna get an idea how fast this turbo is going...I should be in the 10's if I hadn't blown a headgasket...I know some guys were in the 11.0's on a stock motor, let's hear ya!

It's not me I haven't put mine to good use yet just high 11 passes, but I'm curious to hear what the quickest one is also.

A friend in Phoenix went 10.93 last weekend, on the same day my 52 blew up

tim freeman (lvgn's kid) has been 10.8's or faster with the 61 i think

Shawn, I think Len said it is an old style TE61 with the 60-1 compressor.

I'm not the fastest, but I'm pleased with it. 11.3 @ 117 @ 24 PSI a coule of weeks ago. I bought it used - it has a 4" inlet and a 2.5" outlet. Not sure if they all do or not.

PS: Post number 2,000 baby!

What is the difference between the PT61 and a TE62..thanks Dennis :)

the TE62 is an OLD 62 mm that we used to sell and was a big shaft turbo with the Ptrim exhaust wheel...the PT61 is using a GT35R 61mm GT comp wheel and a small shaft stage 5 exhaust wheel, two completely different turbos

I think the 61 makes the same power if not more than the old 62 and spools light years quicker

i read somewhere that the 61 was the smallest big shaft turbo....

Well it's IS a small shaft turbo BUT not the biggest! Technically the PT67 P-trim is the biggest small shaft turbo that I know of.

The old 62mm turbo for the TR's, was a small shaft, and was a very strong runner. That particular set-up however did see a fairly high failure rate (tweaked/bent turbine shaft).

The current 61mm set-ups are comeasurate in power, but more reliable for sure.

Joe

I know you didn't sell them to them. But there's a couple guys running in the GP world running mid-high 11s with just 1.9:1 rockers with the PT61
