I'm installing the kit today on the GN & I'm ready to install the new 3bar sensor. I have the digital dash. Razor's instructions for one say to use a supplied green wire, but I have no green wire that came w/ the kit....I do have a seperate bag that has a gray wire, a black wire & some wire loom. Maybe he ran out of green & supplied another color??? Tried to call Julio, but no answer today..
Could someone who has installed the 3bar w/ the digital dash give super good details on how to wire the 3bar up using the extra wire to the TPS starting w/ unplugging the 2bar sensor...? I'm having a mental lapse today & need it explained in s-l-o-w terms...lol.

In slow terms..

The sensor needs to be supplied power and ground.

Power is supplied on the Gray wire of the plug that plugs into the sensor. Easy way to do this is cut the plug on the original harness, giving yourself room to be able and strip wires..

and then strip the three wires(Gray,Green,Black)..

then attach a wire to the Gray.. and run it to the Gray wire thats on the top of the TPS plug. You may need to go to a place that sells wire like Radio Shack/Home Depot/WalMart/etc and obtain wire to do this. That is if you dont have any wire available in your Garaje.

Next is supply ground to the plug(black wire) and run it to the fender screw by your battery. Use one of the supplied O-ring terminals and solder it.

Next is attach the supplied Green wire to the Green wire on the plug. That wire will be run into the vehicle to the PAC controller.

This is the direct quote from step 5 in your installation manual..

"On vehicles equipped with a GNX , digital dash, or aftermarket gauge cluster.. the line on the plug that feeds the 5volt supply to the MAP sensor will need to be supplied to the sensor. As will the ground. A typical source for 5 volts will be the top wire of the TPS switch next to the throttle body. Basically run a wire from that top wire to the terminal labeled “C” on the MAP sensor. Terminal “A” is ground. Terminal “B” is signal(green). To confirm the sensor has been wired correctly, turn the ignition on, and measure the green center wire. It should read approx 1.6 volts dc with the engine off. If this checks ok, this portion is done. At this point I typically attach the included green wire to the center leg of the MAP sensor. The simple solution is one inch away from the sensor, using a single edge blade or knife, pull back the insulation, wrap the green wire on the green MAP sensor wire, and solder it together making a permanent connection. Tape over using quality electrical tape. This is used to send signal to the PAC controller. The green wire can also be accessed under the dash, although its location will have to be sought. I find it simple to access it under the hood."

Been out of town at the Buick race... Sunday is my disconnect day

HTH

PS.. if your good at wiring, the 5volts and ground to that plug can be done inside the car. Simply jumping the 5volts to the TPS from the ECM to the gray wire behind the dash.. and ground as well.. this requires a higher intimate knowledge of electrical wiring within the vehicle.

Julio, thanks for the help, but I don't see the supplied green wire in the kit. Like I said in my original post, there's a seperate bag that has a piece of gray wire, a piece of black wire & some loom in it...is this what you want me to use?

Your going to need 10 feet of 18 guage green wire. It can be anything from 16 guage to 24 guage..

Two options.. I can mail you a section of green wire tommorrow or you can go and buy a small roll and finish your install.. Most Autoparts will have small rolls.. color is not important.. just make sure the center wire on the MAP plug gets connected to the Green wire on the PAC.

Sorry that it didnt make it into the kit.. let me know what you wish me to do.

Do I use any of the 2 wires from the original 2 bar plug for anything?

So, just strip a portion of the insulation off of the 3bar plug wires & tie into these with new wire & plug the 3bar plug into the new sensor right?

Thats a pressure switch that has the two wire connector. Its not a MAP sensor.

You can either strip the insulation and jump the power into them, or cut and jump the power.

The important thing is that this particular connection is the MOST CRITICAL of the whole entire kit. NO MAP=NO ALKY

Please re-read my posts.. if they dont become any clearer.. you'll need to seek professional assistance in wiring the product. It is imperative that proper connections be made(soldered) so that issues dont arise from improper installation.
