I just installed my new TA 6262 DBB turbo (new design exhaust wheel) and all I can say is WOW! It replaced what appears to be something similar to a 6169 JB turbo. The car has a 3K stall converter and spooled pretty quick with the old turbo now it's up on boost like a fat kid on cake. I have it turned down to 15 PSI right now on a old 18deg street chip and it pulls good.

I can't wait till after vacation and I get a alky kit, TT chip and run it >20psi. I need to get new tires too. The car spins the 10 year old radials anything above 10psi in 1st or 2nd if I don't roll in to the throttle slow enough.

:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

Welcome to the 6262 crowd! 10sec power on 25psi.

I bought mine in june and believe it has the cea turbine wheel as well.

This is a really hot street turbo. Any chance for some video for us?

No real street video, but after some testing the converter in this car is more like 2600 @ 0-1psi

I did get a quick video of it spooling on the transbrake with a old street chip (no funny stuff in it to spool the car faster)

Do you have any head/cam work?

Thanks
Zack

It has a small cam (206/206) and there was no major porting, just work done mainly behind the valves.

I have been looking at the 5857JB Turbo.. Just was thinking if I went with the 6262 I would have room to grow. But have a completely stock motor except for bolt ons. Maybe ill stick with the 5857.

Thanks for the information
Zack

Your best bet would be to talk to someone like Patrick (from PTE), he knows his stuff.

Zack, you can always try the 5862, that turbine wheel might help once you start pushing the compressor.

I have to keep watching this video, it is memorizing!

im a new member of the 6262dbb club and glad i did it, spools like my te44 with a precision ex housing and my 10 inch lu converter only stalls at 2650- 2700 at 0-1 lb boost. had to get 275 mt drags right away cause it just boils street tires at will and thats at pump gas boost, yep im a boost junkie and unashamed!

I love this turbo, here is a crappy quick video from a roll, it hits 10psi and I let out because the tires start to spin a bit. You can see how quick the boost comes up and you can pretty much control it with your right foot.

I'm working on getting a set of 255-60-15 MT Drag Radials or if I can't some new radials and a set of slicks. The 10+ year old tires on the car melt anything above 10psi. I am actually replacing all 4 tires due to age.

if u can get 275 mts to fit i would do that, i did on 15x8 4inch backspace wheels and no rub! i still have trouble hooking up with my 6262dbb, good luck, rob

Nice, I need to put a t-brake in mine.

How much boost can you build holding the brake to 2800rpm?
