that sounds like its blowing out spark. what pulgs are you running and what is the gap at?

just checked....running acdelco 41-803 with .052 gap.

Did you check your IC hoses like Boost231 indicated? Always check your basics before you start swapping parts and spending $$.

Check IC hoses; vacuum lines; boost line y connector (swapped?); plug gaps; ensure plug wires are seated properly; follow positive cable to starter and ensure there is no exposure in the wire possibly shorting out under load; follow negative to ground; check tightness at battery posts; check fuel pump ground for tightness and no corrosion or overspray; check hotwire from alt to tank for any exposure. Also, make sure you have a clean fuel filter.
OBTW, did you port match the new turbo to the puck?

Hope any of this helps. Good luck.
Brian

checked plug wires and cleaned coil pack individually, cleaned and tightened ground from battery to block(right below turbo), also checked boost line y connector everything good (referencing gnttypes "quick references")

wow there is your problem right there. plug gap is out of control. Put some NGK UR5's or whatever your favorite plug is and gap them a .032

Extremely bad knock can cause the car to "sputter." Get a scantool before you blow the thing up will ya'?!

Just bought scanmaster...on its way

just installed plugs and gapped them....car still wont spool up, keeps sputtering. any other suggestions

R u getting a SES light under load?

Did you follow your positive cable from batt. to the starter and ensure there isn't any exposure, esp. around the starter (usually grounds out on sheild under load if there is any rubbed out exposure)?

Is your wastegate arm connected to the puck?

Also, check you tensioner w/ car @ idle and see if it is excessively bouncing around. Then, put a load on it (give it some RPM) and see what it does.

If you have a good wastegate solenoid laying around, then try swapping that out as well, IF none of the above prove evident.

Check your intercooler hoses and up-pipe to tb hose AGAIN.

Be sure to let us know what the Int and BLM's as well as any MAL codes are when you install the Scanmaster.

It's a good possibility that your MAF took a dump too. Also you may have bumped your TPS sensor out of spec, but usually that will throw a SES code. Did you replace the oil feed line with the new turbo? As someone suggested before, you need to check your puck alignment because the TA-49 has a larger wastegate hole and there's a good possibility that the stock puck isn't sealing the hole all the way.

Get your scanmaster hooked up and post up some idle numbers. For starters, your MAF should be between 4-7 at idle and TPS around .42-.46. Be patient, we'll eventually get you squared away.

Also, do you have a boost gauge to see exactly what boost your running when the car starts to sputter?

not getting SES light, positive to starter is good, wastegate arm is hooked to flapper arm.

i'm gonna check that puck alignment, oil feed line was replaced with braided line. don't have boost gauge...though thats on its way as well.

Did you check your belt tensioner @ idle and under load? Just want to cover the basics first - it's cheaper that way!

Update

decided to turn on car saturday morning.....went out for test drive and had full boost all of a sudden. NO MORE SPUTTERING! I must have f*cked something up when i did the pressure wash and then dried up. Thanks for everyones advice and suggestions. car running great.
