We'll see how it holds up.

505 cid,
solid roller,
est. 600+ lb ft of torque from 2500-5500 rpm.

3800 lb 1969 Chevelle.

dropped the motor in and then installed the trans.

it was a helluva lot lighter than a TH400 :)

Plan is to run it and see what breaks...

Built it with a CK Performance forward drum, PTS shift kit and PR kit, Billet servo, Hd pump rings, 10 vane setup, machined the OD piston and added a clutch, and used Alto red clutches throughout, as well as the Alto wide band. Also a hardened stator and sun shell. Dual fed the directs.

Using a BQ code VB.

What are the bets on failure...
Input shaft,
stock D5 converter,
OD planet,
???

The sure thing is, youll never be able to enjoy the car again without OD.
What is your rear ratio. If deep , then trans will be happier.
Good Luck

Well, if I had to put money on any of the other parts failing first choice would be an input shaft, next would be the pump. Keep us informed, it all may just live fine for you. Mark:D :D :D

I ran a 700 in my 71 GTO back before anybody was trying these things. After many struggles, I got it where the clutch material would last forever. Then, hard parts started dying. band anchor , output shaft fracture, convertor hub. Was amazed to never hurt a planet, input shaft, sun shell. But then, these parts were changed when needed between each "autopsy".
The immediate 555ft lb in a heavy car was worse than a high hp motor on driveline i believe. My lead foot too.

Keep us posted..

I'll be interested on how it works out for you too.
