Sure you can do this. You will have some alchy fumes due to the small hole in the cap of the tank, and will need to prime the system before using (test switch). The fumes shouldn't be that bad if you use a 50-50 mix, and you could always find a way to vent the fumes outside.

I had thought if putting a fuel cell back there many times. All you would need is to get one with the same depth as the SMC tank, then switch everything over.

Good luck!

You need to be very careful about routing a line that far. If it rubs and eventually leaks, the only way you will know about it is the knock gauge:eek: The light will come on and the pump will pump but it will not make it to the nozzle

Also there will be a slight drop in pressure due to the extra length of hose the pump has to push through. I think it will be strong enough but there will be a drop

the drop in pressure was the main thing i was wondering about. i think i'm gonna give steve a call today and see what he has to say about it. if it can be done he would know. i also didnt think of the fume issue, but that shouldnt be a problem.

thanks for the replies. keep'em coming guys.

Set the turn on point lower and trigger the nozzle through a solenoid set 1-2 psi. higher than the SMC pump. Or just start the pump earlier and it will build up through the primed hose.

First test would be a pressure test without the long hose using the nozzle and second would be one using the long hose and nozzle.

I put a flow switch in line with my single nozzle kit on the GN and only lost 1-2psi. and didn't notice any different flow. I always run the pumps on 10 anyway.

Going to a dual nozzle with solenoid and flow switch on salvageV6 hopefully set up before the track rental at LVD on Oct. 6th. :)

Testing what you want to do is the key. I'd worry a bit about the fumes they could build up in there. Closed confined space ain't good. My car would be okay it's naturally ventilated. ;)

...flow switch...?

Where can I get one? I have some big plans......

Sounds dangerous.
My understanding of the reasons for Buick abandoning the alky injection included the potential for fire in an accident.

Most use a mix of Alky. and water. Most don't use the trunk. Relatively safe system comparable to NOS and 7th injectors and fuel pressure gauge hookups. All involve hoses and flammables.

The Flow switch is far from proven, I have no clue if it will stand up in use. Tell y'all next spring. :)

I got a cheap $40 one for testing, plastic and stainless construction. Mounted out at the nozzle, must be mounted vertically about 4" long and comes with 1/4" NPT on each end. Easy to plumb into the line.

Got a different flow model for the dual nozzle setup to be installed on salvageV6. None are perfectly matched for the nozzles as far as flow trigger rating.

Haven't hooked up the flow switch to any kind of wastegate control yet just the light so I can watch for operation.

I will be using a relay to open the wastegate solenoid(s) power line(s) to lower boost as a safety factor for no flow for starters.

Lots of testing to do as usual....
