Putting on a RJC alternator pulley. Any tips? Was running a Kirban pulley with his Impala style fan but Jason's stuff looks so much nicer. The tensioner pulley and water pump pulleys are a no-brainer just want to make sure the alternator pulley is right and will line up.

What I really need to know is are any washers needed behind his billet fan and the nut that he sells?

Just Installed.....

Hi :) .....I just installed the alternator pulley by RJC....the only thing is that you have to reuse the original spacer between the pulley and the fan and torque down to 50-55 lbs. I am ordering the water pump pulley next....very good quality by Jason....

55 ft lbs!??? Don't know if I would torque the aluminum nut that came with the pulley that much.

I had the Kirban aluminum pulley with his Impala SS fan on my alternator and can't remember what it had for a spacer, definetly will not work with the spacer I had for the Kirban setup. If I remember right it was a thick washer with some hash marks on it. Will have to hit the local parts store to see if they have any I guess.

50-55 Lbs..........

Hi.....I called Jason to confirm torquing and he says as well 50-55 lbs, fine threads 11/16 worth threads NO worry about stripping.....Mine installed just fine, back it down 10 lbs. if you're uneasy about the torque  ......

Mark, I wanted to jump in here and mention that I had the same problem. Only I had the newer delco alternator with the plastic fan. It came with a pulley that had the spacer build into it. With RJC's pulley I had to run to the local hardware store and pick up a handful of washers. I got a perfect size. If you buy a handful, you will notice that some can be slightly thinner than others. I think I only needed to use 2 or 3, but it worked and fit perfectly. Actually now that I mention it, I had to file the inside of these washers just a hair so they would slip over the shaft. Worked perfectly! If you dont use a spacer and you try to tighten, it just bends the plastic fan and it will rub and eventually get worse. Hope this helps.

Hey Scott, that's what I ended up doing. Got some bronze washers and made up my own spacers. Hit them with my die grinder to open them up a bit to fit over the shaft. The two washers I used keeps the pulley just a hair away from the fan pulley and everything lined up fine.

Here's an installed pic. Nice piece!
