well i wanted to install the aluminum core support on the car before the car is to be painted in the next few weeks- so i started tearing it apart this evening-
the bumper was already off, so all i had to do was detach the core support from the fenders and frame, drain the radiator and ac lines-
unhook the headlight harness and pull and lay it onto the drivers inner fender area-
all this would be alot easier, but the car is still sitting on the trailer!!! i dont have enough driveway space for truck, trailer, and car behind it
the only MODS i had to do, were flip the stock frame to core support bushings upside down- it now has the SHORTER ones on the bottom, and they are now laying between the frame and the core support-
i also had to drill holes for the header panel studs to mount into the core support-
sucks now cause the plastic inner fenders sit about 1 inch above where they should, but i can shim that-
i had to flip the bushings because there is a difference in height distance, and it wouldnt clear the fender mount lips-
and also shim up the hood latch assy
all is good, and it all lines up PERFECTLY! you wouldnt even know its aluminum because its still black-
im just glad that i did this before i get the car painted-
