i've had metco upper and lowers on for a while now. they came with brackets to do the instant center mod. is this worth doing? the car 60ft is decent 1.69 on bf drags. what are the advantages to doing this and is worth the hastle:?

Based on the information contained in your sig, I would assume that your car's primary function is to go fast. At the dragstrip, your car would benefit from the addition of the ICM brackets included with the Metco LCA's. By moving the IC of the car rearward, less horsepower is wasted compressing the springs and shocks and more horsepower is applied to the ground. The installation is not difficult, and can be done as a bolt-on, but must be done with care to ensure that the proper pinion angle is maintained and that both sides are installed in an identical fashion. The capability to accurately measure pinion angle is a must. If you do not have a copy of the original instructions, I can provide them for you. E-mail me at

thanks for the killer info guys. i'm gonna get it done asap. things will only get better!

Matt,
Some may say not , but yes its worth the hassle. U and I have similar combos. After setting up my Metcos with the IC brackets and HR Parts airbags spacers i got my best 60fts so far. At Bristol I was able to get low 1.6s on the foot brake and mid 1.4s on the transbrake. With some more rear brake tweeaking im sure i can bang 1.5s on the foot brake. Of course this is with slicks. Although this may not sound stellar to many, this is the absolute hardest my car has launched using either method.
