instrument cluster

Recently purshased a 1987 turbo regal with digital dash. Instrument cluster, alternator and brake lights seem to be conspiring to prevent dash and rear lights from working as well as alternator charging. Problem is not with fuses (as recent postings have discussed). If anyone has a similar experience, I could use some advice. Worst case will most likely be removing instrument cluster, but perhaps another solution can be found.

I would take it out, not very hard. I had a few of these body style cars. Look at circuit tape on back. Maybe something crossed or shorted in there. Id check the wiring harness up to the gauge cluster as well.
