Could these two be related? My interior lights work BUT I have NO gauge (stock analog on my 1987 Grand National) lights.

Also, where do I buy the VSS? AutoZone doesn't have it (was worth a try) and I've been reading through my searches it was discontinued all together. I did find this though...

P.S. Put a FMIC on and car went from 15psi to 18psi at WOT BUT shows knock, FP spikes to 80 and it starts missing bad. I wanted to get it to Lou for a tune right after the FMIC but now I need to figure out the VSS and cluster light first. Again, anyway the knock/miss could be related? Thanks again...
 
Just ordered a 2.1 Scanmaster. I already have fuel pressure, knock, boost, oil and water gauges, this was the last on my list for preparing to tune and figured I'd buy it to check stuff before spending $100 on a VSS. Any tips now that this is on the way? Thanks again.
 
Do the other dash lights work? AC, stereo, shift indicator?

The only relation I see is that they are both in the dash. Pull the cluster and see what you find.

Doubt VSS is the cause of the miss. I would throw a fresh set of plugs in (gap .030)

What plugs do you guys recommend? I always ran NGK TR55s on my LS1s. .030 seems so low when you're used to .55 NA and .35 Nitrous, lol.
 
No blown fuses. Noticed something else though... With the headlights on, tach and boost gauge (factory) do NOT work/light up. Headlights off they do.

No HVAC lights come on either BUT I never paid attention before to know if they did previously, have to check those bulbs next.
 
Check the 5A LPS fuse and of course the 20A Tail Lamps fuse.

Otherwise it could be the dimmer switch.

And those plugs listed are great for our stock cars. :cool:
 
New plugs in, gapped at .30. Old ones didn't look bad but the gap had opened to around .38. Miss/backfire/knock is still there under higher boost :( Also can feel a slight stumble/miss even at idle now. Super slight but of course I can tell the difference. Wondering if the old plugs masked it? Definitely not an install issue, double checked them all...

Scanmaster still isn't in yet so I'm just wondering if I should plan 02s and TPS next? Has a MAF Translator on it.
