Topic is about a top speed race between a high horsepowered supra vs. a IROC with a big block and 650 shot of NOS that run's 8's@160+ mph. Race is suppose to be from 100 mph roll till 200. It appears the Iroc guy has access to an air strip for this race.(must be nice) Thread touches on all topics related to this type of race(tires, stoping, power to gear ratio, etc..)

Any predictions about a winner, if this race were to go down? I think it would be fun to watch.

those guys are CRAZY that's all i have to say...

i am afraid to go over 70 mph anymore after my freak accident wrecking a 2001 Intrepid at 115 mph (LONG story, let's just say God was on my side)...let alone 200 mph...

Assuming they both roll into it until 100mph, (about 1/4 mile minimum) and then make a blast to 200mph (about 1/2 mile) they will end up with just a little over a mile to get it shut down. I would guess it won't be a problem for the IROC with a chute, but the Supra may have problems. Traveling at 200mph, you go 1/4 mile in 4.5 seconds. I would worry just a little bit about having enough road.

Runway size

If I were those guys I would worry about how long the runway is because there are many different lenghts for different size planes!
