Guys and gals......

Im wondering how much intrest there would be in terry houston style headers ?

I would also like to know how many people would want a billet tentioner with a replaceable spring and wheel?

scott- give me a call....i can do that.

Im thinking of having ten sets of headers made and around 100 tentioners made.

headers will be around $895.00 and the tentioners will be around $100.00

I can have 3 or 4 bolt headers made.... the w/g flange would go where the o2 bung is on 3 bolts.

These WILL clear a 3.5 inch downpipe.

Only problem is i need ten orders so they can be cost effective.

Tentioners will fit in the stock location but will use a readily avalible tentioner...stay tuned.

hopefully the headers will be of better quality than the ones TH sold....they were absolute crap!

local car had 'em and they spent more time back for welding cracks than they did on the car

I wonder if there is anyone out there still using them?

Jason Cramer uses TH headers on his TSM car..... I know one guy down here has them on his 10 second car and he hasn't had any problems with them cracking yet.... Maybe that guy got a bad set?? What's nice about those headers is you can use a 3.5" TH DP without any problems (with ATR headers it's a major PITA and most guys end up having to get a custom 3.5" DP made)....

well, D!ck Kereny had 'em .......they may have been an early set, but they were awful....leaks & cracks galore...he runs the Burrhead's now

I think the problem with the header on the pass. side is the tubes are to short and there is no room for them to expand and contract. So expansion joints were added. The material the joints were made out of were half the thickness of the tube itself. My driver side th header and cross over have never had a leak or crack. The pass. side split open at the double expantion joint after 7 passes. They were welded 6 times and never made it more than 10 passes without them cracking at the joints. That header has been reworked removing all x-joints and has about 50 passes with no more problems.

Woody i would not say the th headers were absolute crap. I think they were more of a work of art. I just think the passenger side header needed some more run time to get it right. I also talked to **** when he was having problens with his cracking and he was having some fuel problems. He said it woud not make a pass under 1800 egt. That may have had something to do with his problems.

A not to be named TSM Racer went back to the ATR headers after having issues with the TH units leaking over and over.

I would like to know more about the Stage 2 Headers

John i hope that i have mine fixed. Brian i wish you the best of luck with this project. If this passengr side header would bolt in place of the current th header you could sell a few single replacment headers i am sure. That is if they stay flat and dont crack.

Walt, you are more patient than I!

on about the 3rd crack, I would have pitched them...

and yes, D!ck had some big time egt's, but had the same situation with the Burrheads and no problem....maybe the expansion joint mods fixed them......me, I'll stick with ATR...tried and true!

(although it will be tough to fit a 3.5 downpipe in there.......but I think Mr Mease can solve that prob.....)

OK-

These are patterned after a TH set. The flanges he used were 3/8 , i am going to use steel 1/2 flanges. The expantion joint is a source of cracking so i will be eliminating them.

I am going to use 321 stainless since it is a little better on the heat than 304.

Now as far as 1800 egt's , NO 321 stainless will hold up. Thats inconnel territory. Anybody that runs egts that high will crack the headers. 321 limit is around 1550 , so again we are on the edge of working material. The only thing i am tring to do here is make a set of headers for the 50 or so guys that were stuck with a 3.5 thdp and no headers for the next 3-5 years.

IF anybody want to test the prototype set and located in warm weather, e-mail me.

Andy- i dont have your number, call me at 248-640-7249

John wilde...... prototypes are being made as we speak.

Anybody out there have a JUNK 88 i can use to mock up the single turbo stage 2 headers?
