Would 102MPH be correct 1/4MPH for my setup running 18.5psi-street chip - with the alky?
My readings seemed good and I had no knock but I was wondering if the power seems right for the boost & chip or do I need to look into something else before changing chips or upping the boost?
The chip pulled boost down to 15psi in 3rd then built up to 18.5.

THanks

Is 102 your 1/4 mile trap speed? If so, what was the rest of your timeslip (60', 1/4 ET)

I believe at 100 or 102MPH your et will be in the high 13 second range.

The track was terrible. I had a 2.23 60. et was 13.59.
I am trying to figure out if my power is down withe the 102MPH trap speed with the set-up I was using last night. I am not concerned with my et at this time.
I thought I sould be in the 104-105MPH range.

Our stock 87 Turbo T with a K&N, dual flowmaster exhaust, and the coolant lines blocked off ran 98 with race gas and 16#s of boost. Ran 98 with 20#s of boost also. I think 102 with your combo is about right. See you have a 69 442 that you bought new! I have a 67 RS SS Camaro that I bought new. I think it feels great to have bought a 60's muscle car brand new and still have it 30+ years later..

my car ran 100-101 at high 13's, mid 13's and low 13's. at boost ranging from 18-20#'s and alky.

That sounds just about right to me.

I went 13.3 @102 with a 2.0 short time and 19psi when my car had a stock turbo, so it looks like your O.K.

MPH looks right on the money with that amount of boost. Get those 60ft's down, and get that boost up!
Watch for knock.
My sig runs were made with 21psi boost on 92 octane/alky.
Car is 3800lbs with driver

I don't think the chip did that. Knock will do that (even false knock from the shift) as will being too rich or too much alchy.

Unless the boost in 3rd is set at 15 and its creeping to 18.5 psi.

What did the scan tool say?

102 sounds right for street chip, 18 psi. The drop in boost may have cost you a mph, too.

Here is the run from turbo link

psi rpm retard mph
4 - 2175 - 0 - 0
18 - 3025 - 1.4 - 6
17.5 - 5125 - 0 - 31
16 - 4250 - 0 - 47
19 - 4950 - 0 - 70 3rd on
15 - 4150 - 0 - 79
17 - 4375 - 0 - 85
18.5 - 4650 - 0 - 92
18.5 - 4900 - 0 - 98
0 - 4575 - 0 - 102

Suggestions / comments

Do I have boost creep like UNGN suggested?
Am I revving to high?
This is a 130,000 mile engine that has never been into.
I am running a ta49 turbo.
Thanks for the help

It doesn't look like you are locking the converter. I only see 5000 RPM on turbolink on 116 mph passes (28" tires). You are seeing 4900 going only 102.

That's 2 mph min.

Do you have a large puck and has the wastegate hole been opened. You will get boost creep with a TA49 if you are using a stock puck elbow. Maybe not 3 psi, but you will get some.

Also, at 18 psi my TA49 wasn't any faster than my stock turbo, even with a race chip. Turn up the boost to 20 psi min.

UNGN, the converter was not locked as I was just trying to get a baseline. I am trying to make sure I have thing as close as I can before changing things.
I have a ported elbow with a larger puck so I hope the 15psi was caught on TL before it got to 18.5

Thanks for advice.

130k & never been opened up those stock valve springs are definately tired!!! Should be worth a couple of mph alone & will help the engine live longer with the 'abuse' your throwing at it :)
