I didn't care if it was OEM or remaned. You said it was for a 86/87 GN, which it was not.

Personally, I don't feel that a refund of money should depand upon someone else buying the part.

And finally, i offered to retract the paypal complaint, the moment after i had spoke to you on the phone in an email, to which you didn't respond.

It works just fine in an 87 GN. I tested it at the track and with no change in the operation of the vehicle. I tested it using a scantool. If you put the piece in your car and it doesn't work, that would be a different story.

"Works just fine...."

The car will run without a MAF....

But, not as it was designed! Our LC2 engines are limited by the flow limit if the stock MAF already. A MAF "similar" to the stock MAF with a choke point in the air flow will LIMIT the output of the engine at WOT even more than the stocker. That is why the MAF you sold as an "86/87" GN MAF is useless to a serious TR owner: It will not allow the full potential of the engine under any circumstance.

tkbailey, I suspect you sold the MAF thinking it really was a GN MAF to fit 86/86 GN's. We all make mistakes....All of us. Sometimes our pride and stubbornness get in the way of doing what it right. Believe me, I speak from experience on this subject....I could write a book ;)

I encourage you to reconsider and make it right with Nathyn. You'll sleep better at night knowing you hold to good old fashioned ethics and integrity. :) All the other things happening to warn other TR owners can be made right again too.

Food for thought. I've made prolly 50 trades on this and the Gnttype BB's and NEVER had anything to complain about. Frequently, sellers send stuff before payment arrives. They have integrity and would do anything to be upright and honest. It is a high standard to meet. I urge you to reconsider and save everyone a lot of heartburn. Its only the price of a pissant MAF for heaven's sake!

:)

I tested the MAF in an 11 second GN with no negative effects. The neckdown in the MAF is negligible, and does not effect the performance.

I was reconsidering things with Nathyn. When we had our initial phone conversation I informed him that I would be out of town for a few days, but would get back in touch with him when I returned. He continued to call my office several times a day, continues to call and email my father (who has nothing to do with this). He also disputed the matter on Paypal.

Due to the amount of aggravation this man has caused, I have no interest in being charitable. Sorry guys, but that is the end of the story. I do not have the time to deal with this further.

A$$ hole

I am dealing with this same situation right now... i keep telling the company i bought this holley unit from that it doesn't work they keep sending me new ones... same type as described by nate.. necked down in the middle and all...(junk) it makes my 85 motor run rich..... i think they are gong to refund this time.

tk bailey you should refund the money it is the right thing to do...if you don't you are indeed an A$$hole and you deserve everything you get...

Mr. Bailey,

I checked my phone records, and they are as follows:
3/14/03 9.46 – you were not in
11:10 – on another line…left message
2:43 - made first phone contact, by calling you - not a return call

3/16/03 – 2:21- Not in, left message
3/17/03 – 8:27 – Not in, left message
3/18/03 – 8:40 – Receptionist said you were in, left message.

And I made one phone call per day for the following week ( 3/21 – 3/25).

According to my records, you would have had 2 messages awaiting you. Annoying?? If you would have returned my 3/18/03 message or even an email it would have saved you annoyance's. My guess is that you were trying to sell it again on gnttype.org, as I saw your posting of a "new maf sensor - $50", and if you sold it then you would refund my money. I could be wrong, but it is my guess.

Secondly, if you tested this piece on a 11 second GN with a scan tool, then why didn’t you offer this information when we discussed this on the phone, as opposed to informing me you simply had it in the car and it ran fine, seems odd to me. I would think that information would be some of the first info you would offer.

But anyway, it is fruitless to argue these mute points, because you have made it clear you have no interest in reaching a mutual agreement, in your mind the issue is complete. We could argue all year, if we chose too. I think everyone reading this is aware of the type of business you conduct. Enjoy my 88 dollars. If you ever need a new 1987 MAF sensor, i got one i'll sell ya.

Sincerely,
Nathyn

Nathyn,

Look here:

The interrogatories will go something like this....

"Did you advertise an 86/87 MAF on the INTERNET?" (answer, "Yes")

"Did you accept the money? (answer, "Yes")

"Did you send an 86/87 MAF?" (answer, "No")

"When you were advised the MAF was not an 86/87 MAF, did you do anything to remedy the situation?" (answer, "No")

Those are the only relevant facts.
