Is it common for piston skirts to crack?

I just pulled apart my engine and i found 4 out of the six pistons had cracks in the skirts and it also had broken top rings on 4 pistons.Is this a common problem for these engines?The cylinder bores are perfect and no ridge at the top of the cylinder.so i dont think it was caused by the bore being worn.

Also what pistons would everybody recommend.The block has been bored .020 over.

DETONATION, What kind of pistons hypers? You could go w/ forged TRW, CP, JE, or Diamond to name a few

They are cast pistons.
