is the 85 coil pack spark plug wire placement the same as 86-87

i changed spark plugs today and took off all wires at the same time because my coil pack is numbered so i thought it would be easy to put back in the right place, but now my engine wont even run, it just backfires and bucks when i try to start it.

You have posted on the wrong board. Try the Hot Air board. I have an 85 with an 87 IGN. I can tell you the 85 wiring harness to the 87 IGN if you need it. Based on your post you messed up the wires with the 85 IGN. Keep us posted. Brad
