Is this true?

I heard from somebody that Red Armstrong is no longer doing the ECM mod for low impedance injectors because he can't get the Peak and Hold drivers required to do the modification.... Is this true (are the drivers discontinued or something)? Is TurboBob (Bob Bailey) still doing the ECM mod?

Looks like Bob ran out of the drivers not so long ago as well......

If these are the same Fairchild drivers that us syty ppl use have the guy drop me a mail as I can get Fairchild stuff in small quantities (10-20) through work.

I wish this were the case, but they are the Cherry CS453's (some also used the CS452's from what Kendall said) and they have been discontinued for the last couple of years from what I was told.... Red and Bob obviously had a stock pile of them, but they must of ran out I'm going to call John Spina of Caspers and see if he has them..... Appreciate the offer though.

Well I just spoke with John Spina of Caspers...... He no longer sells the factory ECM for our cars and he doesn't have the drivers....

Bruce, do you have a phone # for Bob?

My dad just ordered an ECM modified w/ the drivers from ATR for $180 + shipping! They claim to have a company that has the drivers and does the modification and they still sell the factory ECM..... I think you can send them an ECM to be modified, but it's probably not the quickest turn around because they have to send it to the company so if you don't mind paying an extra $50 you can just order an ECM modified w/ the drivers like my dad did.....

You CAN just pop in a set of Power MOSFETs, but they're not the sorrect way to go. The only correct ones I know of are discontinued.

ok, who wants drivers?

I just did a quick search of some places I use for work and on the first try found 2 companies that deal in discontinued semiconductors, 1 in NY, 1 in CA, & they both list over a thousand of the Cherry Semiconductor CS453 available. Now, one would have to call them to check for sure and see what their min buy's are. It varies by company, but I bought a discon IC last year and only got 15 pcs.
