Is this wave plate reusable??

Tranny had 1000 miles on a fresh rebuild when it started to flair big time going into second. I bought it this way as a core and am now following a video to rebuild it.

A pic of the direct drum wave plate is attached. My concern is the discoloration. Is this plate reusable?

I know some rebuilders locally that would reuse it, but I would never reuse something that has been "hot spotted" like that.

Chris no good,But also i hope this was not in the direct drum.You should have no wave plate in direct,Just forward and Low-reverse

That looks like a machined down direct pressure plate, but I have never seen one with those outer notches. Maybe an optical whatever.But to answer yory ? ----No

It shouldnt be in direct if its a wave. I would never reuse a plate thats hot spotted. Its only $1.50 or less for a new one anyway.

Thanks guys. I didn't really put it in, I used the new wave plate out of the rebuild kit. I just wanted to know IF it could be reused. I'm a parts horder with the philosophy of "hey, maybe I can use it in the future." I have worn out crap stored everywhere...lol.

Otto....I ran out and checked what you said with my work and the video. And yep you're right, it was the forward clutch drum I put it in, not the direct. But I appreciate you mentioning that as I need all the help I can get.

And to make matters worse the video is starting to act up....lol. My worst nightmare as I'm only half way into putting the tranny back together. If this tranny actually works when I'm done I'll be the one who's the most surprised.

And it doesn't surprise me that you still have my number on your caller I.D. Most caller I.D.'s hold 100 numbers then as new calls come in the old ones are deleted. In 15 years you've had less than 100 calls?? Makes sense.
