Well, ya'll we're right! Stevo, Leeper, et al, I replaced the complete cam sensor and IT RUNS AGAIN! although I'm not at all convinced that my old sensor is bad - I found absolutely NOTHING wrong with it. Yup, I Guess that means <brain f@rt> I must have been setting it on the wrong side of the window.

I got an inspiring call a few days ago from "Mac" in Fort Worth, telling me about his car (exact same problem) and how he was setting the sensor wrong and that I should try it again. I honestly don't recall how I had been doing it, but setting it as Mac instructed, it fired right up! Of course, it could have been the sensor... Just remember: turn it counter-clockwise until the voltage drops.

Thanks All!

Wow. That is the end of the longest engine soap opera in the history of engine build ups.

Congrats!!!

PS. I learned A LOT from the tech advice given over the months... amazing.

SENSOR BAD??

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

And I always thot the wrench turned the nut!!

That was about the most mentally stressed I've ever been in any project  but it's behind me now. Thanks again to all who helped me get through it!

I got your e-mail about the truck. Thank God it's finally over...my shoulder was getting soar from ya leaning on it to cry. :p Now it's time to move on to the next PITA...the paint and body work. :D

Sarcastically yours,
Erik

P.S.
You know that if there is anything that I can do to help out, I'm all on it.

Damn, Russ, you are human after all! You were always ducking into phone booths and you had me fooled!

Now put the old one in and, if it does not run, you will feel a lot better! :)

We all need a few stories to tell in future years....ain't too many of us on here that don't have a whole bunch of similar experiences...unless we are liars!

I am happy for you! :)

Ya know Steve, I thought about trying the old one FOR ABOUT ONE MICROSECOND! But I'll just save it for a rainy day... I am sooo glad to have a running, non-leaking engine again!

Thanks!

Hey Russ,
If it was me, I'd put that old sensor in the B-B-Q pit "altar", set fire to it, and consider it an offering to the Turbo Gods. Joel and I could even stop by to burn incense and sing chants.

Erik
