After 8 long years of a painstaking frame off....
GNX 405 is finally alive and breathing!!!! Went over to my Son-In-Law's this last weekend and he had it together enough to see if it would fire.
We double checked everything, primed the oil, primed the fuel rail, had a water hose standing by (in case needed for the high idle cam break-in run up).
She fire immediately, plenty of clatter of course; set up the idle to 2,000 for the 20 minute cam break in. Kept a close eye on coolant temps (and everything else). With a perfectly new and clean cooling system the temps never got over 189, and cycled up and down as the fan cycled on and off.
He restored it to 100% stock so it looks like a new GNX top and bottom!
I'm sure John (GNX 405) is ecstatic that it's finally coming to and end, he poured his heart and soul into that car for 8 years.
His wife Michelle (turbomichelle) is to be commended for the patience and understanding put forth during this project.
Now he gets to start working on her 87 Turbo T.
