Californians crack me up, Im originally from Miami, FL and it rains pretty much every single day during the summer.

It rains here (san diego county) and the news goes into disaster coverage mode, I've lost track of all the "advisories" and "warnings" they have spouted off on the news.
They also give "thunderstorm" warnings and I guess they have a different definition for that word here. Apparently if it rains at all its a thunderstorm lol

I think the fact that I have only heard it rain from indoors 1 time in the past two years here and that lasted about 5 seconds speaks for itself

Today the most I saw it do was a steady drizzle for awhile

silly people

Kinda off the subject, but I remember being in Oceanside June 18th/19th of this past summer and they were playing the 'distressed emergency call' of some old lady on the news. They had the 911 recording of her calling from her cell phone. She had accidentally gone off the road (about 10 or 15 feet) and was crying out, 'I don't wanna die out here in the trees!'. I laughed 'till I cried.

Brief thread hijacking, sorry...

Pablo, did you used to make the car meets at Checkers on Bird Road & 107 Av.on Wednesday nights ? If this is you, CALIFORNIA ??? Are you the one with the gauges above the glove box ?
??
Dang...

haha just wait till that storm gets to AZ, the stuff well really hit the fan! it will dominate the news, front page of the papers. topic of conversation at the water cooler, people will blame it for causing a 90 car pile up on the way to work.

people are stupid they should die!

I'm originally from NJ, and sometimes the TV News "STORMWATCH!!!" bit cracks me up, too.

OTOH, even a little bit of rain in SoCal has a lot more effect than in Fla. For example, mudslides that kill people and shut down highways, accidents on the roads due to oil film buildup (which gets washed away daily in Fla.), etc. Check out today's footage: the 101 is closed from a mudslide, and the I-405 is under water in L.A. We're having it easy in SD, which is why we live here, right? :)

And since you haven't been here for an el Nino winter (last one was in '98), just wait 'til the real rain comes. Of course, the rain will stop in March or April, and we'll have our 75 degree summer with 30% humidity and no bugs (don't even have to screen in your entire swimming pool - imagine that!)

Just like Fla., huh? :D :D :D

When is that dreadful state going to float away,,aid for Fires, aid for floods, aid for earth quakes, aid for mudslides.........then you have San Fran......:D :D ;) :p

We can only hope!

Man, I can already see my paychecks getting bigger without paying aid to California from the government all the time.

Would that be nice or what.

I didnt have a turbo Buick then I was out there with my 89 Firebird (white with black crosslace wheels) I frequented the lurias on 87 and bird, I dont remember meets on 107 and bird.

I actually lived in saga bay so I spent more time racing there and at the fuddruckers show or discount auto parts where we used to get together before heading out there.

We probably know of the same people... Is there a guy named Bill Lee out there with an bright orange 86 5.0 stang still?

Lemme tell you, the street scene in miami blows (or blew) california away. California sucks.

And who's fault is that? :D

I figured the world was coming to an end when Arnie was elected. Then again, he's the second main star from the movie Predator that was elected governor.

I do know where you're coming from, I came from Billings (even though I was 6 at the time) and the people around here go ape #*!% every time there's a 1/2 inch of snow on the ground. Long as you don't use your brakes too much you're FINE folks. The roads can be clear and dry, if there's snow on the grass beside them they'll drive 15. Some people need a slappin'

I hate the rain in AZ.... they close the mx tracks

my back yard is flooded and my dog ran through the freakin house with muddy paws

need beer

California is great. (except for the drivers). I drove by a "Flooded" sign on the way to work. Yep, believe it or not the GN drove right through a 1" California flood. I'm thinking it's the only place you can have a street/strip car that also qualifies as an ORV, at least by the states definition of bad weather and conditions.:D Silly Californianites :p (or whatever they're called)

Rain sucks.
