I have that heater in my garage and works perfect. If you figure a 100,000 btu furnace will heat a 1800 square foot home. Not sure what you think is needed for a 2.5 garage ?

i can see DR BOOST ordering one as we speak;)

My garage has water lines from the water heater that run through the floor which is pretty nice. No cold floors when laying on the ground working on the car. Only problem is it doesn't really get real warm like a forced air furnace. It will stay about 40* OK. I think I need to supliment it with something else.

did you install an RPZ valve for that line

Not sure, it was all installed when we moved in. It does have its own thermostat, dedicated breaker, etc. One nice thing with it though, if you feel the cold water return pipe going back into the tank, it is very warm. Can't take too much energy to get the water HOT again.

One nice thing about being in the HVAC business is the deals you get. We have one customer that wanted to upgrade his old heating system that was about 10 years old. It was a 12 SEER heatpump with a variable speed air handler with electric back up. Instead of putting it in scrap, I brought it home and installed it in my shop behind my house. I keep the Buick there with a few other toys. Its drywalled, and insulated very well. The thing works great. Hottest day of the year I can have it about 72 in there and days like today 5degrees I can have it about 68. Not bad. I just need a toilet out there.

So what do you think it will take to heat a 3 car garage. Right now it is open joists ceiligns. But this spring I'm going to floor it (And pick up a huge storage area) and the after that consider heating it. And yes I bought this house for the garage.

You should leave the 3rd bay open up top so you can have enough ceiling space for a lift.;)

My new house has to small of a garage to do any thing I mean who build a garage 20d x 30l. I have a just enough room to slide my fat but between the wall and the bummper if I have it all the way in amd the doors closed. I have to leve half the car out side to do any work. but when I lived in NC I had a 40x60 and used a 100 gal propaine tank and one of those heaters that look like a jet engine from lowes got it on sale that thing will take a garage from 0 to 60 in no time and I got it on sale for like $100.
