How cold is it? I woke up to -39'C and with the wind it came out to -50'C. It's been like this for a little over 2 weeks. It's suppose to get up to -25 in a couple of days, should be a nice change.

Yikes!

Nothing but short sleaves and A/C here:p

But really, we've had a rather unusually long cold spell this year. It's been 20's for most of the month of January. This isn't cold to some of you guys up north but It's freezing compared to our usual 40's this time of year. I don't mind the cold but it wears thin after a few weeks around here. It was freaken funny as hell, the news had everyone buying food like crazy thinking we was going to be snowed under. The local stores ran short of food and schools closed down. I think we may have reached a total of one inch of snow and a little ice on the roads in a combined two days:biggrin: It was all gone by the end of the day. Thats typical West Texas weather!

The way I look at it is winter makes spring, summer and fall that much sweeter! Also keeps the mileage down on the GN.

Yeah, that's exactly what I say to myself when it's -4 in Chicago. I love warm weather, and as much as it would be nice all year long, I feel like I wouldn't appreciate it as much without going through a few months of this BS.

Guess I won't mention it's going to be 80 degrees here today...oops...going to the track on Friday night to race...probably cruise around in the GN over the weekend...I grew up in Detroit...no offense but you guys can have that bitter cold weather...someone mentioned emissions...things have changed in AZ... a new law is supposed to go into effect in March...cars that are 15 years or older and are insured as a Classic car are exempt from emissions...the law has been hanging for 2 years in the EPA's laps...they finally said OK...now I don't have to worry about emissions with either of my cars...

We have had a string of under 35 degree days most of jan & feb since being unemployed.. of course back in Dec we had nice conditions while I was employed. GO FIGURE!

I visit the garage & uncover my T and stare at it. :o trying to remember my last run down the strip with it.

now I am out picking races with Grammies & Ricers in my daily driver. :D
I got my azz toasted against a soccer mom driving some beammer X5. Dang I have to watch who I race.

I'm with ya there. I think one of the things on my "to buy" list will include a used snowmobile in the off season. We have some decent trails up here, and I know quite a few riders. Just never really think about it till I get bored during the cold months.
But, yeah, you do appreciate the warm stuff more when it does come around. But, I dont mind 20 degrees or 15 or so, but when you start talking single digits for highs...well, thats nuts.
At least Im not far enough upstate, above Syracuse. They are buried under more than 7 feet of snow with a few feet more expected this weekend!!
